Rainbow Tavern Matchbook Cover

Object/Artifact
Navy blue matchless matchbook cover, with silver text, from the Rainbow Tavern cocktail bar formerly at 122 Essex Street in Millburn. Harry Polansky of 15 Kenilworth Drive is recorded in the 1952 city directory as the owner or manager of the Rainbow Tavern. The tavern does not appear in the 1960 city directory. The corners are slightly bumped, the edges are slightly worn, and the striker pad is worn. There are 1/8" tiny pieces of paper missing right above the striker piece. There are three fold lines (two in the center, where the matchbook cover was folded) and one near the striker piece. There are four small holes where the staple was removed. Purchased on eBay from Matt Klein; 4400 Melrose Dr, Lot 19; Wooster OH 44691.
