Chanticler Restaurant: Lipstick Blotting Tissues

Object/Artifact
This pack of small Kleenex lipstick-blotting tissues was in a scrapbook purchased at an estate sale. The young woman who created the scrapbook kept memorabilia from events at her school (secretarial? junior college?). The item has overall soiling and dots of residue of the paper to which it was glued. It has three horizontal creases in the middle of the cover, at the point at which it would have been folded, as a matchbook is. There is a staple at the bottom, where the lipstick paper was attached. The outside of the package notes: "The Ultimate in Supper Clubs; Luncheon; Cocktail Hour; Dinner Supper; Dancing Nightly; Serpentine Bar; Cafe Moderne; MIllburn 6-2377; Wm. E. Neue." "The inside of the package is marked: "Most smart women find that lipstick stains on gloves, handkerchieves, etc., are a problem. Chanticler suggests this solution. Please accept these 'Lipstick Tissues' with the compliments of Chanticler and request more, if desired."
