Martin: Gustave Martin Metal Corn Knife

Metal (stainless) corn knife incised on both long sides" "CORN KNIFE." The rounded end is incised: "G. Martin; Pat. Pend.; Short Hills, N.J." A patent for a corn knife was issued to Gustave J. Martin, of Short Hills, on Jan. 3, 1950. Martin was born in Newark in 1905 and became a supervisor for for the Paul H. Jaehning Electrical Construction Company in 1947. He and his wife, Marie, lived at 8 Hobart Gap Road from c.1940-1972.
