Mayflower Laundry: Bottle Opener

Object/Artifact
Metal (stainless steel?) bottle opener from Mayflower Laundry, formerly at 56 Mechanic Street in Millburn NJ. One end removed metal caps from bottles and the other, sharp end skewered and removed paper caps from milk bottles. The pointy blade is engraved on both sides "PAT'D 1-26-12"The middle of the handle is marked on one side: "MAYFLOWER LAUNDRY CO.; 56 MECHANIC ST. MILLBURN, N.J." The other side of the handle is marked: "BETTER LAUNDRY SERVICE; PHONE MILLBURN 6-1401" The Laundry was established in c. 1926 and closed in c. 1957-8.
